My friend Parley showed up early this spring with a handful of what he thought were tomato volunteers. There was actually one tomato but the rest were marigolds. They came out orange. I planted them along side the yellow ones I have been working off of (saving seeds) for 36 years.

Each “bush” has produced hundred of blooms. The bees, butterflies, and birds, have feasted all summer on them.
Things grow well all over my yard, but the bed that runs along the sunny side seems to really put out the show. I don’t know what is in the dirt here, but I am really thankful for it.
