“I don’t always eat triple chocolate cake cookies but when I do I eat them straight off the cooling wrack in stealth silence.”
That’s exactly what this picture should be captioned. And that’s exactly what happened. And this is how my naughty pup looks begging for forgiveness after a stern scolding.
Note to self: Cool cookies on top of the fridge next time since all the way back on the cabinet is not far enough for my Ninja Shepsky.

Thankfully, Trey left enough for me to sample and conclude they are worth noting.
Cake Mix Cookies
Preheat over 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- 1 box of any kind of cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 5 T butter (softened)
- 1/4 C water
Combine all ingredients in a bowl for a firm batter. Mix well but don’t over mix or you will end up with a tougher, bread-like cookie.
VARIATIONS: You can add nuts, chocolate morsels, dried fruit, coconut, or other garnishes, up to 2 1/4 C worth!
Drop onto a cookie sheet (I sprayed mine with a little butter spray) with a small cookie scoop (appr. 1 T). Bake for 8-10 min. Cool on a baking rack, (way on the back of the counter if you have a Ninja dog).
Makes about 2 dozen.
Cookies are thick, soft, and really moist.
I used a triple chocolate cake mix for mine.
