A Grand Prairie resident recently purchased two West African Banded Forest Cobras and a Pit Viper. At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Aug. 3 one of the 6-foot Banded Forest Cobras escaped.

The snake was last seen at the 1800 block of Cherry Street. While it is possible the snake is still inside the home somewhere, it is also possible that the snake has made it outdoors. Though searching, the owner has been unable to locate it.
This particular species of snake is highly venomous and extremely aggressive. A bite results in certain death.
Anyone who sees the snake is advised to refrain from contact and to call 911 immediately.
